Madden is Back in the Picture

So we all saw John Madden leave the NFL back in April of this past year. We all said our goodbyes to one of our favorite sports betting commentators and one of the best recognized coaches in the NFL.

john_madden1But wait! He’s not completely gone. John will be working behind the sports betting scenes with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell as an unpaid “special adviser”. It seems Madden loves the game more than we thought. He’ll be advising the commissioner on “matters pertaining to the game, including competitive issues, coaching and personnel development, technological innovations, player safety, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.”

Goodell could have probably used Madden for some advice on the rules when the infamous Cowboys Stadium HD screens got in the way of a punt. Though it was a fairly simple call, and a do-over is probably the simplest solution, who knows what kind of solution John Madden may have had in mind.

“When I retired from broadcasting, I didn’t retire from my passion and interest in the game,” he stated. “This position enables me to continue that.”

So Madden will be deeply involved in the behind the scenes workings of the league, chairing the coaches’ subcommittee to the competition committee, and other juicy sports betting workings.

In 2002 John Madden was awarded the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award by the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Last month, Governor Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver announced that he would be one of thirteen inductees into the California Hall of Fame that would be in The California Museum’s year-long exhibit.

Madden has done and will continue to do great things for the league. Rest assured that so long as his lungs carry air, he will follow his sports betting passion that is football.
