Monday Night Football begins tonight as the Raiders face the Chargers, and the Patriots face the Bills for the first Monday game in 2009.
The Oakland Raiders have struck rock bottom over the last few years. But this football betting season, however, the Raiders seem like they may have some more talent than usual. For tonight’s 2009 Monday Night Football opener, they still have some room to surprise fans.
Though they are probably the more talented football betting team, the Chargers have had a certain knack for falling short. With Norv Turner at the helm, this team has been known to get off to a slow start. However, the Chargers should still take the win here, and easily cover the spread.

After a long wait during the offseason, it’s now the 2009 NFL regular season. Football betting fans can finally have a taste of the action unleashed that was held back during the preseason. For the first game of the regular season, we have the Tennessee Titans visiting Heinz Field as they challenge the Super Bowl champs, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Football lines on this game are already up as the Steelers are 6½ point favorites for the game. They are expected to do very well during this game. Though they could have definitely done better during the preseason, they keep in mind the preseason is merely a time for teams to feel their way around. This by no means indicates that they will defeat every team out there, nor will they flop. For now, we just don’t know.

So we all saw John Madden leave the NFL back in April of this past year. We all said our goodbyes to one of our favorite sports betting commentators and one of the best recognized coaches in the NFL.
But wait! He’s not completely gone. John will be working behind the sports betting scenes with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell as an unpaid “special adviser”. It seems Madden loves the game more than we thought. The New York Jets have named the rookie quarterback of Mexican origin, Mark Sanchez, as the starting quarterback for the 2009 NFL betting regular season, as confirmed by Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network. Head Coach Rex Ryan confirmed Sanchez as the starting quarterback for the 2009 regular season. He argued that the rookie presents for them the best opportunity for victory.
