Hines Ward is the Inexplicable Receiving Leader through Week 6
Hines Ward is not a young man. Yet in his 12th football betting season in the NFL and his thirty-third year on the planet he is still experiencing new things. The Super Bowl MVP has achieved many things during his storied career and set numerous team records but he’s never led the league in receiving, something that he is doing for the very first time this year.
At an age when most WR’s best football betting days are behind them Hines seems to be getting better. Like a fine wine he’s getting better with age and with a pass first mentality developing in Pittsburgh his number should only continue to get better.
It’s no small coincidence that Big Ben in off to his best start to a sports betting season in his career and putting together the best statistical passing season in team history. But with more balls being put in the air Ward has taken full advantage and surprised even his biggest fans.
Through six football sports betting games Ward leads the league in catches (41), receiving yards (599) and yards per game (99.8). Those are fantastic numbers for anyone, but especially so for a player that was supposedly past his prime and expected to be little more than a second or third option in the offense.
It’s quite an impressive feat that this pro bowler is putting up the best numbers of his professional life this late in his career. And it’s not stretch to claim that right now he’s the best receiver in the NFL considering his legendary blocking prowess and intangible leadership assets he brings to the table as well.
