Bengals will not sneak up on anyone
It’s almost as if the last three football betting years never took place for the Cincinnati Bengals. Remember back to 2005 when the team won the AFC North in the regular season and was one of the Super Bowl sports betting favorites heading into the playoffs before losing Carson Palmer with a gruesome knee injury? Well after three years of discord and failure the team is right back where it was before Palmer’s injury and maybe even better.
This is a good year to be a football betting fan of the Bengals. The team has been the proper picture of dysfunction over the past few seasons but two big major developments have catapulted this team to the top of the division standings and into the position of a sports betting contender for the Super Bowl.
First, the team has finally got the personnel on defense to match Marv Lewis’ defensive philosophy. It all starts with the LB and the team finally has a menacing corps of backers that will bloody their opponents’ nose and allow for a pass rush to blossom. Much credit must also be given to the team’s outstanding young corners that can be left alone in single coverage without fear.
Second, Cedric Benson is running the ball like nobody’s business. After a career high against his former team Chicago in week 6 it seems as he’s finally living up to the promise that made him a first round pick. And of course Palmer is back to his old tricks tossing 5 TDs in his last outing. With the offense and defense both playing at a high level Cincy is a team to watch in the football sports betting.
