Hines Ward is the Inexplicable Receiving Leader through Week 6

Hines Ward is not a young man. Yet in his 12th football betting season in the NFL and his thirty-third year on the planet he is still experiencing new things. The Super Bowl MVP has achieved many things during his storied career and set numerous team records but he’s never led the league in receiving, something that he is doing for the very first time this year.

At an age when most WR’s best football betting days are behind them Hines seems to be getting better. Like a fine wine he’s getting better with age and with a pass first mentality developing in Pittsburgh his number should only continue to get better. Read more…

Is There Any Hope for the Bucs?

Tampa Bay BuccaneersThe one good thing for football betting on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is that even if this struggling team only wins one game all year, it still won’t be the worst season in the team’s history. Everyone knows that the Bucs have the dubious distinction of a winless season, but the way things are going it might have two of them under its belt when the dust finally settles on the 2009 season.

04_NYJ2_Fans95_49853Any football betting fan that’s seen or heard anything about the defending Super Bowl champion Steelers this year is that the defense has crumbled late in every game so far this year, hence the mediocre 2-2 record.  And while that football betting statement is not entirely untrue the teams multiple fourth quarter meltdowns have as much to do with the offense as the defense.

True, any time you lose a player like S Troy Polamalu, it’s going to hurt your performance in the football betting.  Polamalu is especially important to the blitz-crazy Steelers because he’s a giant safety valve that allows the Steelers to pressure the QB knowing he’ll clean up any mistakes deep down the field. leon-hallLast Sunday the Cincinnati Bengals pulled off the franchise’s biggest football betting win in the past four years. Not since the team qualified for the playoffs in 2005 season has it tasted a win as sweet as the one the one against the defending Super Bowl football betting champs and AFC North arch-rivals Steelers.
