Football betting on the Titans at Steelers

After a long wait during the offseason, it’s now the 2009 NFL regular season. Football betting fans can finally have a taste of the action unleashed that was held back during the preseason. For the first game of the regular season, we have the Tennessee Titans visiting Heinz Field as they challenge the Super Bowl champs, the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Football lines on this game are already up as the Steelers are 6½ point favorites for the game. They are expected to do very well during this game. Though they could have definitely done better during the preseason, they keep in mind the preseason is merely a time for teams to feel their way around. This by no means indicates that they will defeat every team out there, nor will they flop. For now, we just don’t know.

Mark Sanchez Named Starter for the Jets

sanchez-3The New York Jets have named the rookie quarterback of Mexican origin, Mark Sanchez, as the starting quarterback for the 2009 NFL betting regular season, as confirmed by Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network. Head Coach Rex Ryan confirmed Sanchez as the starting quarterback for the 2009 regular season. He argued that the rookie presents for them the best opportunity for victory.

The move is slightly surprising, considering the fact that Sanchez had a bit of a rough preseason NFL betting game when the New York Jets lost against the Baltimore Ravens. Read more…

Misfortunes Surrounding Injuries in the NFL

terrel owensBuffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens will not participate in the football betting game this weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to an injury that continues to bother him in his toe. This injury, also known as “Turf Toe”, is the same injury that struck LaDainian Tomlinson, keeping him from putting up his usual stellar numbers.

Also in Buffalo, the star football betting running back Fred Jackson was taken out of practice after having injured a finger. He appeared to be in lots of pain and was escorted off the field by the team medic after practice. Jackson is a key player in Buffalo because starting running back Marshawn Lynch will be out the first three games on suspension.
