Titans Give Young His Chance

October 30th, 2009 Steve Spelman No comments

The career path of former U of Texas QB and first round football betting pick Vince Young has been a rocky one. Just four years into his pro career this guy has experienced quite a lot in the league except winning. And so the news of Nashville that he will be the team’s starter in week 8 is less than inspiring for many Titans fans.

But at the same time there is little resistance from the fan base considering that the team is 0-7 in the football betting action this season. And when your choice is between bad (Kerry Collins) and terrible (Young) what have you got to lose by trying something different in the sports betting action. It can’t be any worse right? Read more…

It’s almost as if the last three football betting years never took place for the Cincinnati Bengals. Remember back to 2005 when the team won the AFC North in the regular season and was one of the Super Bowl sports betting favorites heading into the playoffs before losing Carson Palmer with a gruesome knee injury? Dolphins have mastered the Wildcat

Just as most of the teams around the football betting league that have experimented with the novelty of the Wildcat formation and given up on it, the Dolphins seem to be ramping up its usage.  In the recent win over the Jets the Fins lined up in the single wing 16 times which very well may be a modern era football sports betting record.

Most teams call the formation a ‘gimmick’ and use it a few times a game it at all.  But the Miami Dolphins have buttered their bread with this formation all football betting season and by all indications will continue to do so.  Even when their sports betting opponents all have ample tape of team’s plays out of the Wildcat it continues to succeed. So why does it work for the Dolphins and no one else? Read more…

Michael Vick Situation Analysis

July 29th, 2009 Steve Spelman No comments

Michael Vick’s reinstatement could not have come at a better time for him.

Here’s a few reasons why… First, it’s August. Training camps are open. Only problem Vick might have is missing a couple of games until his suspension’s up.

This suspension could actually be something of a blessing. Michael Vick can use this time to practice and get himself back in shape after almost two years of inactivity. Remember, it’s been since 2006 that Vick hasn’t thrown a single pass. It will definitely take some time for him to shake off the cobwebs and get back up to where he used to be. Read more…
